Subdivision Layout Design, Assessment of Landscape & Visual Effects

Location: Riversdale Beach, Wairarapa Coast

Client: East Leigh Ltd.

Located on raised marine terraces adjacent to the existing beachside settlement of Riversdale, the site has expansive views over the golf course to the Pacific Ocean .

Hudson Associates were responsible for the subdivision design including layout of sections, roads, and open spaces. The design emphasises retention of the existing rural character and coastal and rural views, including retention of a large portion of the site in open space.

Hudson Associates also prepared a comprehensive Assessment of Landscape & Visual Effects as a part of the planning application, which was approved in 2006. Landscape implementation has included extensive revegetation using native plant species, with over 5ha of revegetation successfully completed to date.
